Zero Waste America is an internet-based research organization, specializing in knowledge on U.S. waste disposal issues. “Zero Waste” is the “recycling of all material back into nature or the marketplace in a manner that protects human health and the environment.”
So what can you do, on the individual level? From their What You Can Do page, try to avoid toxins, mined products, manufactured goods, imports and shopping. Instead, substitute with organic, biodegradable, handmade and local products. plus, try to start making some of your own stuff, such food and clothes.
