Yesterday Patricia wrote about a beautiful kitchen renovation that totaled by $80,000. whether you are interested in embarking on an eco-friendly kitchen remodel but are concerned about the cost, here are a few tips to keep in mind:
- You don’t need cabinets made out of recycled wood to construct a difference. By looking by the companies involved with the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s Environmental Stewardship Program, you can locate manufacturers committed to practices that benefit the environment.
- Did you know that true laminate flooring is made from linseed oil? I didn’t. It’s sustainable and non-toxic. Just manufacture certain that when are shopping you avoid the polyvinyl lookalikes.
- Laminate counter tops are still a wallet and eco-friendly choice as expanded as they are made with recycled particle board and water based glue.
- Lastly, ask around and see whether there is a resale shop that takes donations of demoed and leftover materials from construction sites and resells them. You might find just the accents that you are looking for.
