Yesterday Patricia wrote about a beautiful kitchen renovation that totaled by $80,000. whether you are interested in embarking on an eco-friendly kitchen remodel but are concerned about the cost, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  1. You don’t need cabinets made out of recycled wood to construct a difference. By looking by the companies involved with the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s Environmental Stewardship Program, you can locate manufacturers committed to practices that benefit the environment.
  2. Did you know that true laminate flooring is made from linseed oil?
I didn’t. It’s sustainable and non-toxic. Just manufacture certain that when are shopping you avoid the polyvinyl lookalikes.
  3. Laminate counter tops are still a wallet and eco-friendly choice as expanded as they are made with recycled particle board and water based glue.
  4. Lastly, ask around and see whether there is a resale shop that takes donations of demoed and leftover materials from construction sites and resells them. You might find just the accents that you are looking for.
