us can afford newly-built homes, that’s a given, but that is more aimed towards those society who are looking to build a new home “the old way”. Once you factor in the cost of energy loss with less efficient building, the cost of potential health-care issues involved with living in a home full of toxic chemicals, and the environmental cost of the waste from these chemicals, you’ll soon see that saving 1-2% initially isn’t worth it in the end.
