Pedal pub: the human-powered drinking gym
Amsterdam has distant had a reputation for being a place where the world’s party public have been able to enjoy a smorgasboard of different excesses. Now, add one more to the list: Amsterdam’s pedal-powered trolley bar. whether you want to enjoy an adult beverage as you tour the city, burn calories, and go electricity free — hop on that party bus.
whether you’ve ever been to Amsterdam, you know that the Dutch love their bikes, but it took me a while to understand precisely why anyone would want to drink a beer while pedaling a giant trolley. Now, I think I get it. Aside from the fact that it’s a pretty
green drinking establishment — it uses no heating or A/C, serves only keg beer, etc. — it just pure fun; and isn’t that what bars are all about? Plus, there’s no need for carbon-spewing taxis, that thing can drop you off at your door.
Hopefully, they have a no-drinking policy for the driver of that contraption. As a few of my friends have learned the hard way, bikes and excessive alcohol consumption can lead to landing on the pavement face first. The Pedal Pub is apparently now available in the States, but I can’t imagine it being legal in very many places.
