Last night I had the satisfaction of spending a few hours at Charity: Ball — an annual holiday benefit to raise money for charity: water.

Now I must say right off the bat, I love that organization — always have and always will. Their dedication to bringing clean and safe drinking water to citizens in developing nations is not only noble, but absolutley essential.

It’s hard to even comprehend that nearly 1 billion society do not have access to clean drinking water — that’s one in eight of us. But charity: water is working to change all of that by funding sustainable clean water solutions in areas of greatest need.

Stars like Adrian Grenier, Kyra Sedgwick, Matthew Modine, Lauren Bush and many more came out for the event, which

welcomed by 1200 public and raised more than $1 million (100 percent of which will directly fund clean water projects)! Not surprisingly, by 10:15 p.m., the organization broke through the by 1 million folks served mark — proving that hard work, an honorable mission and a creative approach really can create a global movement of change.

In the spirit of holiday giving, I hope that each of you will visit CharityWater.org and learn more about the many ways in which you can give to that vital cause. Consider that: a $20 donation will supply one person clean, safe drinking water for 20 years. That’s like one nice lunch!
