Citizen energy at SolWest Renewables Fair

During the weekend of July 25-27, 2008, Oregon’s Grant County Fairgrounds will be swarming with off-gridders and others who are committed to independent energy for the SolWest Renewables Fair. that event celebrates the community that centers around renewable energy in any structure, be it in a vehicle, home or whatever.
The keynote speaker for this event is Greg Pahl, author of The Citizen-Powered Energy Handbook: Community Solutions to a Global Crisis. Some of the workshop topics include “Basics of Hydroelectricity,” “Solar Hot Water Overview,” “Solar Space Heating,” “Starting a Local Currency,” “Solar Cookery,” “Principles of Passive Solar,” “Basics of Solar Electricity,” “Residential Wind Systems,” and “Water Pumping Choices.”
